Sometimes things just go so well with the design of a new website. You get in the groove, the design is fun, and the programming doesn’t get you down. This was very much the case for the new website that I was proudly launched today for a friend and member of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdagen), Maryam Yazdanfar.
It’s essentially a good quality blog powered by WordPress, but with the possibility of adding pages and additional content to the site. In terms of design, the site relies heavily on CSS (with plenty of influence from CSS Zen Garden), also meaning that the site is W3C standards compliant. The professional design firm used by the Stockholm region Social Democrats helpfully provied the motif for the page. All the content comes from Maryam’s old blog, so with an already established readership the blog is sure to go from strength to strength in the coming months! Further, compare Maryam’s site to the horribly dull Valblogg (election blog) of the Social Democrats and I think we’re doing quite well.
Anyway, I’m very, very proud of this website – so give please do have a look even if you can’t speak Swedish!
