David Miliband MP, Minister of Communities and Local Government, has recently launched this blog on the website of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. The first impression is a bit off-putting: the colour scheme is a very pastel shade of purple. The second impression – when you start to read the content – is sadly not much better. This is a government blog after all, so no comments on party political issues are allowed, and the initial posts are quite bland. All of this is juxtaposed with some strangely personal elements. The blog has links to Arsenal FC and Normblog for example, yet presumably even links to Labour Party blogs would not be allowed? Anyway, let’s see how this experiment in eGovernment works!
