Everyone criticises it, but how much do we really know about the Common Agricultural Policy? Now there’s no excuse – have a look at farmsubsidy.org, an excellent collaborative website about who gets what, and which countries just refuse to release any data. While CAP is not really my main field of interest, it seems like an excellent iniative, and thanks to Jack Thurston, the guy running the site, for having informed me of it.

[UPDATE] The site now carries this fantastic story on how Danish prisons are getting EU money to look after the land around the prisons. Seems like a good use of CAP money! Pay for prisoner rehabilitation.
