Summer is normally the time I get a bit more active and do some sport – mosting inline skating. But I seem to have been very lazy this year so far, put off by lousy weather and not being in London on many Fridays to join the Friday Night Skate. But three things have got me motivated a bit. First of all the last few days have been a bit more sunny. Second, a few keen skaters have been giving suggestions in the comments on this post I wrote last year. Third, Helena suggested we go skating last weekend and I was ashamed of how bad my thighs felt after 2 laps of Battersea Park. Anyway, with some new Twin Cam bearings in my skates bought earlier today at my favourite sports store in London, Décathlon Canada Water, I managed to keep up with the group this evening at the Wednesday Evening Skate – 10km or so from Hyde Park Corner to Camden Lock / Chalk Farm and back. It will just need some commitment now to do it more often!
