At the moment there are only 4 female nominees. Kroes’s demand of 10 or more looks some way off! The entire Commission team has to be approved by the European Parliament after hearings, and by the European Council. The team should be agreed by the autumn.
Haven’t there been two government changes in Belgium since the formation of the Barosso Commission. Do you think De Grucht will get the nomination?
Jon, BTW, Sefčovič is not EPP, but S&D. He run in EP elections as head of SMER-SD.
So many requests for senior position! Not enough to respond to the demand… or will new VP posts be created?

Not too sure about the ‘certainties’, some (like Mogherini) get plenty of support but haven’t been confirmed by their governments yet I believe.

Who are the four female nominees – I see only one certain female one. The others are not certain at all.
Not only too few women, but also disproportionately too many ambitious ALDE-members and ex-prime ministers from small countries, by the looks of things. Clearly Juncker is going to have to appoint a good dozen or so vice-presidents in order to keep everybody happy.
Greece: what about FM Dora Bakoyannis? If she’s out of the running, I missed it.
